Chelsea has had a little tougher week than the previous two. She has had a couple of infections that required testing at irregular times so her sleeping schedule her been thrown OUT the window and she is not happy about it! She is also not happy that her play time, when she is not on an IV, has been reduced because of the antibiotics she is taking to treat the infections. Infections are common at this stage in Chelsea's treatment, as her immune system builds back up but the infections do make her very uncomfortable. No worries, according to the doctors. She, as is Mom and Dad, suffering from serious cabin fever. There is only so much you can do in a hospital room all day long :)
Still no results on the genetic testing, hoping to have them in a couple of days. Our oncology doctor did indicate to us that she was very impressed with how Chlsea is handling the first stage of chemo and her subsequent recovery. She had also indicated that the first stage is often a very big hurdle for AML patients. Makes us feel like she really is getting better :)
Three weeks down and Chelsea first week home is in sights. Hoping to have her home before Mother's day but we will see.

Hi everyone I am glad to hear that the Dr says she is doing so well. Sorry to hear that she has an infection and not getting her beauty sleep. You are all in my prayers and everyone else's that I know.

Sorry to hear that it has been a rough week for Chelsea. I am happy to hear what the oncologist had to say! That's very encouraging. Keep your chins up and now that we are all praying for you guys and love you very much!

Sorry to hear about your tough week. Hope they get the results from the genetic testing back soon and that they are positive for you. Still keeping your sweet baby girl in our thoughts and prayers.
